How to Fix Windows Update Stuck at 100%
Sometimes, Windows updates reach 100% but never seem to finish. This can happen due to system conflicts, corrupted update files, or background processes getting stuck.
Solution:
- Give it more time – Some updates take longer than expected. Wait at least 30-60 minutes before taking action.
- Restart your PC – If the update is still stuck, press and hold the power button to force a restart. After rebooting, check if the update installed correctly.
- Run the Windows Update Troubleshooter – Go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other Troubleshooters and select Windows Update to automatically detect and fix issues.
- Clear update files – Sometimes, Windows stores broken update files. Go to Settings > Storage > Temporary files, find "Windows Update Cleanup," and delete it. Then restart and try updating again.
- Use the Windows Update Assistant – If nothing else works, download the Windows Update Assistant from Microsoft's official website and run the update manually.
If the problem continues, there might be a deeper system issue. Running a system scan or resetting Windows Update settings could help.
