Fixing the 'Automatic Repair Couldn't Repair Your PC' Error

Sometimes Windows gets stuck in an "Automatic Repair" loop and won’t boot properly, showing the message "Automatic Repair couldn’t repair your PC."

Solution:

1. Restart in Safe Mode:

  • On the repair screen, click Advanced Options > Troubleshoot > Startup Settings and choose Restart.
  • When the system restarts, select Enable Safe Mode. Safe Mode often helps bypass boot issues caused by software conflicts.

2. Check for Disk Errors:

  • After booting into Safe Mode, right-click on your main drive (usually C:) in File Explorer and choose Properties.
  • Under the Tools tab, click Check under Error Checking.

3. Uninstall Recent Updates or Apps:

  • If the problem started after an update, go to Control Panel > Programs and Features and uninstall any recently installed updates or apps.

4. Perform a System Restore:

  • From the repair menu, select Advanced Options > System Restore.
  • Choose a restore point from before the problem began and follow the on-screen instructions.

5. Reset Your PC (Last Resort):

  • If nothing works, choose Advanced Options > Reset This PC.
  • You can keep your files or remove everything, depending on your preference.
