I recently received a warning from Windows Defender as it detected Trojan:Win32/Wacatac.H!ml after installing an Xbox game. The complete message reads as follows: Remediation Incomplete Detected: Trojan:Win32/Wacatac.H!ml Status: Failed This threat or app might not be completely remediated. Details: This program is dangerous and executes commands from an attacker. Affected items:file: D:\XboxGames\A231BC6F-3B30-4C80-919E-DCEA2086E602\Content\Installers\EasyAntiCheat_EOS_Setup.exe I'm unsure of the source of this threat and why it's affecting Easy Anti-Cheat. On the day this message appeared, I only reinstalled Sea of Thieves from the Microsoft Store placed in the Xbox Games folder and uses Easy Anti-Cheat. I haven't downloaded any suspicious files and have only accessed some long-standing Steam games, Epic Games titles, and Word and Excel documents. I performed multiple full scans with Malwarebytes and Microsoft Defender Offline, both of which have yielded no detected threats. And I haven't noticed any unusual behavior on my computer, as it has been functioning normally. Could this be a false positive threat? Apologies if I provided too much or too little information, I'm new to seeking help here.
